After the success registered in 2008, from 30 September to 2 October 2009 Fiera di Roma will, once again, host the second edition of CSP EXPO SOLAR TECH, the international Fair dedicated to the technologies for the production of CSP - Concentrating Solar Power plants.
The recent development of innovative technologies for solar concentrating plants, European support programmes and their spreading in countries of the Mediterranean area, as well as the launch of the "Conto Energia" feed-in-tariff in Italy, are setting up the conditions for an important development of this promising and sustainable energy solution. CSP EXPO SOLAR TECH, held in close synergy with other specialized fairs, will, therefore, be an important International showcase dedicated to this sector for companies supplying the CSP industries.
SPECIAL FOCUS: WATERMED - DESALINATION
Countries of the Mediterranean area are seeing an increase in the awareness that the demand for water is growing while natural supplies are ever more limited. Technologies for desalination can make sea water and brackish waters, which are available in these areas drinkable. CSP solar plants can contribute considerably in the sustainable development of desalination projects. The combination of CSP and desalination plants along the Mediterranean costs represents an important opportunity for the sector, with a considerable decrease in CO2 emissions, and the use of renewable energy for the functioning of the plants to draw the sea water.
Focus on Desalination as part of WATERMED, the first Fair and Conference on Technologies for Water in the Mediterranean area, with a dedicated area, conferences and meetings, will be an excellent opportunity for companies, professionals, scientists and technicians from all desalination sectors, to meet and exchange ideas and experience, and to update their knowledge on the most recent developments of the various aspects of desalination.
CSP EXPO SOLAR TECH will be held as part of the important International event dedicated to renewable energies and sustainable development ZEROEMISSION ROME 2009, the reference Fair for all those companies and operators interested in the development of renewable energies, emission trading and environmental sustainability, both in Italy and in the large and promising market if the Mediterranean area. The 2008 edition confirmed the success of this Fair and its exhibition and conference formula, with more than 18,000 visitors, 300 exhibitors coming from 14 countries, 9 conference over 3 days, with 46 sessions and 330 speakers.
From 30 September to 2 October, CSP EXPO SOLAR TECH will be held in conjunction with WATERMED as well as other exhibitions: EOLICA EXPO MEDITERRANEAN 2009 (wind energy), PV ROME MEDITERRANEAN 2009 (pv technologies), CO2 EXPO 2009 (carbon credit market), CCS EXPO 2009 (Carbon Capture and Storage), AGRIENERGY EXPO 2009 (agro energies), BIOFUEL EXPO 2009 (sustainable liquid biofuels), and GEOTECH EXPO 2009 (earth technologies).
