JUWI took over the technical management of the 85-megawatt De Aar 1 solar farm, located about 500 kilometers north of the South African coastal city of Port Elizabeth. The responsibility for operating the park with the highest possible yield is now in the hands of JUWI. The contract initially runs for five years. It is the largest third-party project to date for the company's O&M division in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Africa).

With the acquisition of the De Aar 1 solar farm, JUWI increases its operational management portfolio in the EMEA region to more than 800 megawatts of capacity.
The Solar Capital De Aar 1 park was commissioned in 2014. The contract details for the operation management services were worked out by JUWI within a few weeks.
