SolarCity is expanding its popular solar service to Western Massachusetts with a new operations center in Agawam. The new operations center will allow the company to serve a broad area across the western part of the state.
SolarCity makes it possible for many Massachusetts homeowners to go solar with no upfront cost and immediately pay less for solar than they pay for utility power, and SolarCity allows homeowners to lock in affordable rates to protect themselves from rising energy costs. SolarCity will initially offer service to customers of National Grid and Western Massachusetts Electric in the region.
SolarCity's expansion brings a significant number of local jobs, the company plans to fill an additional 50 positions for the facility. SolarCity now employs more than 400 staff in Massachusetts and more than 8,500 nationwide.
