SunEdison, Inc. today announced it has signed a solar power purchase agreement with Stockton East Water District in Northern California. SunEdison plans to install 2.2MW of SunEdison solar panels on the water district's property. By going solar, the district expects to save more than $9.5 million on energy costs over the next 20 years and 20 million gallons of water annually. -

The 6.2MW portfolio of projects include the 2.3MW Ashikita Solar Power Plant in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture, the 2.2MW Minamishimabara Power Plant - East and the 1.7MW Minamishimabara Plant - West in Minamishimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture. -

Solarcentury has connected solar farm in Panama to the spot market, in Coclé province, central Panama. The 9.9MW ‘Divisa Solar' system is to be connected to the country's national grid, and is now generating enough clean solar electricity to power around 3,000 homes. By adding clean solar energy to the national grid, the system is preventing the release of more than 4,850 tons of CO2 annually. -

This solar project, developed by Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. and Connor, Clark & Lunn Infrastructure, will be built in the Township of Southgate, County of Grey, Ontario. -
